Justin Timberlake Prince of Pop Music
Justin Randall Timberlake was born January 31, 1981, and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. He began to perform at a very young age, whether it was singing, acting or dancing. The world was first granted a glimpse of him as a youngster on Star Search, his first-ever television appearance. Back in those early days, Timberlake sang primarily country music, a direct result of his Music City background.
Grammy or No Grammy
Though 'N Sync is nominated for three Grammy awards, including Record of the Year for "Bye, Bye, Bye," the group goes home without a statue. But, Timberlake is thrilled: "I was shocked when we got nominated for three awards," he told CBS's The Early Show, "I didn't think the industry people were into what we did."
The Sexiest Tour on Earth
In what Rolling Stone calls the "Sexiest Tour on Earth," Timberlake joins Christina Aguilera on the 45-date Justified/Stripped tour. The New York Times hails Timberlake's performance, saying his moves "nearly put his backup dancers to shame."
While temperatures dropped outside, Justin Timberlake warms up his audience with a smile as the emcee of the MTV Europe Music Awards in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Thursday. The singer, who opened the show with a medley of his latest hits, went on to win the award for best pop act. "It's nice to pick up the most prestigious award tonight," Timberlake said, adding, "I'm convinced that you guys gave me this because you talked me into hosting the show."
Angel Love
Timberlake smooches new girlfriend Cameron Diaz outside her Hollywood Hills home the morning after her Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle premiere, PEOPLE reports. The pair had been seen around town in April.
First Grammy
Timberlake wins his first solo Grammy Awards: Best Pop Vocal Album for 2003's Justified and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Cry Me a River." He calls his wins "the greatest moment of my life."
